It’s a lazy Sunday afternoon, Romeo is sitting right beside me, mom is prepping up something yummy for lunch, there’s 90s music in the background, and I am happily writing (apparently one thing I do best).
Sharing my sweet cravings and donut love with y’all today.
I was craving donuts for a week. And with the weather being ‘mastana’ and PMS striking, sugar rush crept in full swing…and then on Friday I received a box of donuts, it was like a wish granted.
Dunkin Donuts has introduced some delicious new flavors and they were gracious enough to send them across.
The box had 6 donuts –
2 chocolate donuts (My favorite)
1 cinnamon donut
1 cinnamon spiced donut (mom’s favorite)
1 classic donut (Romeo’s favorite)
1 jam filled donut
Like always the quality of all of them was great. A special mention of the cinnamon spiced variant, the fluffy donut and the sweet scented spicy coating is delicious, making it a perfect partner for evening coffee. The chocolate donut is of course evergreen and you can never go wrong with it. The thick chocolate layer is so irresistible.
With Rakhi right around the corner, this box of goodness will indeed make a perfect accompaniment with your gifts. Share the love and sweetness with your siblings! The fights for choosing the best one isn’t my responsibility though…
Thanks Dunkin Donuts and Ketchupp for sending them! Keep the love coming 🙂
Our love for denims has evolved. From those flared jeans in 90s to skinny denims or the rugged ripped ones, there is a type of denim for everyone.
Denim is a way of life and you cannot escape it. During the harsh summer or the humid monsoon, you tend to stay away from denims. But with these styling tips you can wear denims in a lot more creative ways.
For all those wondering how to give denims an edge, here’s some inspiration.
7 stylish ways to wear denim this season.
Cannot define how much I adore denim overalls. They are synonymous with cool and classic. This season denim overalls have made a huge comeback and happiness knows no bounds.
Style them with a lace crop top or a plain tee, and make a supreme style statement. Add dainty accessories and keep the look light and fun.
Denim overalls indeed make the picture perfect casual Instagram worthy outfit 😉
2. Denim Shirts
For those days when you haven’t waxed or are not in the mood to dress up, a denim shirt can be your savior. Raid your boyfriend’s or even your dad’s closet and you’ll find the treasure of denim shirts.
It also works beautifully to layer with a bralette or a vest. Wear silver accessories, put on a bright lipstick, dash of kohl, and don’t forget your pretty smile!
3. Ripped Denims
Everyone is going crazy about ripped denims. The trend has become a favorite of celebrities from all over the world.Wear them with fishnet tights and a hoodie for a boho chic look. Or if that’s too daring, you can flaunt ripped denims with a bodysuit and a kimono.
And how can we forget the quintessential style statement – ripped denim shorts. If there is one thing that you cannot forget to pack when heading for a vacation, it has to be these trendy shorts. Wear them with a kaftan, a bikini top, a crop top, or just a slouchy tee!!
4. Denim Dresses
Denim dresses redefine comfort. Perfect for a casual day out, lunch date with friends, or a movie outing. Play it cool with sneakers and a messy hair look, or look on point with killer heels and a box sling, the choice is yours.
This season experiment with not just prints, but also cuts and styles. Replace your normal dress with a denim shirt dress for a brunch look! It’ll look super stylish and you’ll be comfortable all day long.
5. Boyfriend Jeans
These are perfect for summer. Baggy and comfortable, you can rock them with a loose t-shirt or a dainty crop top. Boyfriend jeans or mama jeans are a great pick if you have a pear shaped or an apple shaped body.
You can accentuate your curves by pairing it with a bodysuit and style the look with heels. For a more casual feel, pair boyfriend jeans with a graphic tee and sneakers!
6. Denim on Denim
You can never go wrong with denim on denim look. This is my favorite way of styling denims. Wear a baggy denim shirt with a denim skirt and you’ll have all eyes on you.
And if you’re not the denim skirt type, then this next style will be fab for you. Well fitted denims paired with a denim shirt, an evergreen classic choice.
7. Denim Skirts
Last but not the least, this is one of mumma’s favorite style – denim skirts. These come with a tag of nostalgia, don’t they somehow remind you of 90s music videos. Wearing a basic denim skirt with a solid colored t-shirt is great for a casual day out or for college!
You can also style your short denim skirts with a ruffled off-shoulder top for the perfect vacay feels.
Let me know which of these is your favorite style and how do you style your favorite denims. See you soon!!!

“Let the rain wash away, all the pain of yesterday!”
Rains are God sent gifts for booknerds like you and me. The enticing weather calls for reading something deep, heartwarming, and mollifying.
Its monsoon in most parts of the country, so I thought it would be a good time to inspire you with some of my favorite monsoon books. Read on to find out which ones made it to the list…
1.Those Pricey Thakur Girls – Anuja Chauhan
On a gloomy rainy day when you need extra doze of happiness, you should be reading Anuja Chauhan’s work. This particular one is like the spicy chutney that makes samosas all the more delectable.
It is full of sassy feels and bitchy scenes – just what you need to cheer you. And add to it the backdrop of ‘Saddi Dilli’.
2. And the Mountains Echoed – Khaled Hosseini
It is so difficult to select one Khaled Hosseini book. All his books are masterpieces!
And the Mountains Echoed is a heart wrenching story of finding a lost piece of yourself in someone else. Just like all his books, this one is also emotional yet warm and fuzzy.
The Afghan essence and the traditional Hosseini touch make it memorable. Cuddle up in bed with it and your long rainy weekend will be sorted.
3. Norwegian Wood – Haruki Murakami
“Time flows in a strange way on Sundays” – Murakami
Whether it is a Sunday on a hot summer afternoon or a rainy Wednesday night, Murakami needs no season. But truth be told, there is an inevitable charm of reading his work in monsoons.
Gloomy outside , gloomy inside – he forces you to look beyond to find light. Major parts of this book are about death and tragedy, yet it has this sprinkling of positive energy. His beautiful writing is the highlight.
It’s encouraging to read how the characters liberate themselves and trace the path from their world to the so called normal world.
4. The Girl with All the Gifts – M.R. Carey
For me monsoons are synonymous with goth feels and mysterious moods. Matching the vibe perfectly is this eerie read!
It is a tale of zombies in post apocalyptic world. Epic gruesome, gripping, and very engaging. The writing style is fresh and the plot is interesting – perfect example of a page turner.
If you love dark thrillers, you should add this to your ‘To-Read’ list….
5. Honor – Elif Shafak
I am including all deep heavy reads for monsoons! Honor is a beautiful book; it made me a fan of Elif Shafak’s work. It’s so deep and soul stirring. Love, loss, and a rainbow of other emotions are personified to perfection.
Spanning across 3 generations, this one is a complex tale of relationships, honor, forgiveness, and emotional upheaval.
Like after the rain the world seems fresh and green, Honor will make your heart feel the same. And the Turkish flavor matches the soothing petrichor pleasures.
Let me know what is on your reading list for monsoons, and if you have a favorite monsoon read.
Until next time, enjoy the rains, relish yummy chai – pakode, and of course keep coming back!
It’s time for June favorites. I haven’t tried a lot of new things this past month, just rediscovering some old favorites. So without any more rambling, let’s get going.
Himalaya Litchi Shine Lip Care
I have to say that Himalaya lip balms have pleasantly surprised me. Every time they have exceeded my expectations. I’ve tried strawberry and cocoa variants, and this time it is litchi. It is free from preservatives, petroleum jelly, mineral oil, and silicones.
It’s not thick or sticky, yet moisturizes your lips very well. Stays on for a couple of hours and leaves a pale pink shiny tint on the lips. The taste is the best thing, after affordability. It is exactly like litchi juice smeared on your lips, very delicious!
The only negative – the bullet breaks at the bottom very easily.
Price – 140/- for 4.5g
2. Nykaa Nude Nail Polishes
I am legit obsessed with the nudes nail polish collection by Nykaa. Have been wearing them non-stop throughout the month. It is difficult to choose a favorite among the normal and matte range, so including 2 of both.
The formulation is good, staying power is great (4-5 days before it starts to chip), and so many colors to choose from. You’ll definitely find a nude for yourself (pun unintended).
Price – 179/- (normal) and 199/- (matte)
3. The Face Shop Hand Cream – Macadamia
I cannot have enough hand creams. Got this in one of the Nykaa sales and trust me, it is good. Its thick and creamy but not sticky, which is always a plus.
The fragrance is a mix of vanilla and hazelnut – soothing and calming, almost like the heavenly mountain fragrance. It is sleek and tiny, so you can easily put it in your bag and use it throughout the day.
Price – 300/- for 30ml
4. The Body shop Tea Tree 3-in-1 Wash Scrub Mask
There can never be a ‘favorites’ post without The Body Shop goodness. Such is the level of fangirl.
I and mum have been using it as a mask all through June, and it has shown effective results. It has a strong tea tree oil fragrance. The microbeads are small but exfoliate well when you use it as a scrub. The texture is creamy and sets to powdery.
For blemish prone skin it is great. Regular use has reduced mum’s blemishes considerably. For a quick cleanup session at home, it is a nice mask.
Price – 1295/- for 125ml
5. L’Oreal Paris Infallible Lipstick – Forever Fuchsia
Thank you bestie for knowing my lipstick choices so well!
This one is a bright fuchsia color, perfect for all seasons. It has a satin finish as you apply, but give it 10 minutes and it’ll become a super pretty semi-matte finish. Plus points for the color coded cap. It makes it so easy to recognize the lipstick.
The color payoff is amazing, lasts through the day and even survives a meal. Doesn’t bleed, feather, or settle into fine lines. What else can you possible ask for?
Price – 1150/- for 2.5g
6. The Nature’s Co. Watermelon Exfoliating Body Wash
“When one has tasted watermelon, he knows what the angels eat.” – Mark Twain
For all you watermelon lovers, this baby awaits to be added to cart. It smells delicious, just like watermelon pulp.
The exfoliating granules are fine, thus, you get gentle exfoliation. It lathers up well, so you need just a tiny amount. Use it with scrub gloves for super soft skin. You can thank me later!!
Price – 845/- for 250ml
It isn’t the most affordable or the most effective scrub, but the watermelon attracted me.
Do let me know what all have you loved in the month of June. Just another reason to shop in the upcoming sales!
