Hi there!

I hope you’re having a wonderful day. I’m amidst some serious planning and prepping, and the best way to keep up with my writing is to do an amazing Book Tag. So today I’m doing a fun one – Chocolate Book Tag.

best books to read in 2019

1.Dark Chocolate

A book that covers a dark topic (abuse, suicide, bullying etc)

Sadie – by Courtney Summers. I heard the audiobook recently and it is fabulous. It deals with sexual abuse, drug abuse, murder, and a lot of heavy topics. But is handled so beautifully.

Sad, compelling, and so moving, this is a must read/listen.

2. White Chocolate

Your favorite light hearted/ humorous read

Don’t have a particular book, but I think anything by Jojo Moyes or Rainbow Rowell should be perfect for this category. I love their light whimsy writing.

3.Milk Chocolate

A book that has a lot of hype and you’re dying to read

Children of Blood and Bone – Tomi Adeyemi. I’ve bought it, now just need to find time to read it. Think this will happen on my next travel now!

4. Chocolate with Caramel Center

Name a book that made you feel all gooey and mushy

Can I say an old favorite! Me Before You – Jojo Moyes. I love her writing, and this one especially has all the feels. The movie is equally fluffy, but keep tissues handy!

5. Wafer-free KitKat

Name a book that surprised you lately

Starfish – Akemi Dawn Bowman

As I write this I’m almost halfway through the book and it has been great so far. Talks about race, finding your identity, family dynamics, and mental health in the most positive manner.

6. Snickers

A book that you’re going nuts about

  • One that I’ve read – The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo. OMG such an amazing strong story that will remain in your heart!
  • One I’ve not read, but am obsessing over – A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara

7. Hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows

What book would you turn to for a comfort read?

It has to be Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz. I loved it beyond words and am waiting to re-read it.

8. Box of Chocolates

A series you read that you feel has a wide variety and a little something for everyone

Illuminae Files Trilogy – Amie Kauffman and Jay Kristoff.

It is a sci-fi trilogy with elements of thrill, mystery, and sprinkling of romance. It is fast paced and I think a lot of people will enjoy this series.

Second Chance Summer (by Morgan Matson). It’s a summer contemporary, but I could relate to the story on such a deep personal level that it left me sobbing and emotional!

Pick a book going on your Christmas wish list.

Its on my wish list since a couple of months now – A Little Life (by Hanya Yanagihara). Cannot wait to read it and get my heart broken into a million pieces, or so I’ve heard.
