Hi y’all!

Starting new week with a new blog is a good idea. I haven’t done monthly favorites since two months now. Finally curating a list of all the things I loved in July and August.

1. Soulflower Rose Germanium Bath Salt

Taking my new found love for roses a notch higher with this heavenly smelling bath salt.

If you haven’t tried a bath salt ever, it is time you should invest in one. Ideally they have to be used in bath tubs. But since most of us don’t have the luxury of a bath tub at home, you can use them in a bucket.

Using this at the end of the day is like a pamper session.

Add 2 tbsp bath salt in a bucket of hot water. You can soak up your feet after a long day at work or even use this water for a therapeutic bath. It is so relaxing and rejuvenating, like a mini spa session at home. I think this would also make a good gifting option.

It looks coarse, but get dissolved in the water so well.

Price – 350/- for 500g

2. Mac Retro Matte Lipstick

For the past two months I have obsessed over my new Mac lipstick – Relentlessly Red. It is such a pretty redish coral color. Gives the perfect pop of color to any look! Its a cool toned coral which will look pretty on all akin tones.

Mac Relentlessly Red
Love at first sight.

The formulation is amazing, it stays on your lips for 4-5 hours and then gradually fades, doesn’t crumble or feather. I have nothing bad to say about Mac lipsticks, they are just so good. Some of you might find the Retro Matte formulation drying, but it is my most preferred formulations.

3. Himalaya Herbals Aloe Vera Face Wash

Before I discovered this gem, Himalaya Herbals Neem Face Wash was my holy grail. Although it made my skin squeaky clean, I could feel the skin being a tad bit dry. But with the aloe vera face wash, I haven’t faced that problem.

Himalaya face wash
Soon going to be my holy grail.

It is very mild on the skin and doesn’t lather much. The good thing is that it leaves your skin feeling clean and fresh without stripping off the moisture. It’s affordable and does its job properly, what else can you ask for?

Price – 65/- for 50ml

4. Forest Essentials Room Surround Spray

Forest Essentials makes me go week in the knees. I am a huge fan of their Madurai Jasmine & Mogra Range. It smells divine, the perfect blend of subtle mogra and tinkling jasmine. Love it! Comes in a luxurious glass bottle and traditional Forest Essentials packaging.

Forest Essentials Room Spray
Elegance is the beauty that never fades – Audrey Hepburn

It is the best room spray I have ever used, totally justifies the price. The concentrated liquid is highly fragrant and you just need a couple of sprays for the entire room. Some of you might find the fragrance strong, so the best way is to spray it and let it settle for a couple of minutes.

My love for Forest Essentials is on the rise.

There are various other room sprays also available from their signature fragrance ranges. Give then a whiff, and you’ll surely fall in love.

Price – 975/- for 120ml

5. Sugar Cosmetics Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick

The color I have is Jet Set Violet. It is a stunning deep purple color. Perfect for a goth look, or for the upcoming fall/winter looks. It isn’t patchy and applies smoothly.

The cute packaging does get you hooked.

I have a love hate relationship with this liquid lipstick. As much as I love the gorgeous purple color, I hate the fact that it is so drying on the lips. Make sure to prep up your lips well, exfoliate them, apply a generous dose of lip balm and then wear this lipstick! Otherwise it may feather and settle into lines.

That pretty purple!

It dries to a complete matte finish on your lips. Doesn’t budge and survives a meal.

Price – 499/- for 4.5ml

6. Biotique Bio-Cucumber Toner

Like most of us I never included toner in my skincare regime. But then one fine day I decided that I should. Was searching for some affordable options and what better than Biotique?

This particular one is a pore tightening toner with Himalayan Waters. It is suitable for normal to oily skin. It is a 100% Ayurvedic recipe. If you have large pores, then you should give this a try. It is helpful in visibly tightening the pores.

Biotique toner
Barring the strong fragrance, this one gets all the points.

It does sting slightly when you use it, but nothing harsh. The only bummer is the strong fragrance which reminds me a lot of acetone. The fragrance does fade away after about 5 minutes.

Price – 175/- for 120ml

7. Nykaa Matte Nail Polishes

This shouldn’t come as a surprise. Over the past couple of months I have gone gaga over the Nykaa matte nail polish range. My heart goes out to the gorgeous nudes and pastels, but off late I have given in to the temptation of bold red matte as well.

Can never go wrong with RED!

They look stunning, stay on the nails for about 4-5 days (after 3rd day they’ll become less matte), so many colors to choose from, super affordable – tell me what’s not to love about these beauties?

Price – 199/- for 9ml

Hope you enjoyed! Let me know what are your monthly favorites in the comments section below… See you soon!

Forest Essentials Iced Pomegranate & Kerala Lime Body Mist Review

Hello y’all!

Has it ever happened with you, that you smell a fragrance and are not able to get over it.  The last time I went to the Forest Essentials store, they had sprayed this mesmerizing fragrance in the carry bag which I didn’t know the name of. Ever since that fragrance had my heart.

Forest Essentials body mist
Kanav Matta, thank you for always spoiling me with the best gifts! Much love 🙂

Recently I revisited the store to find that body mist. Turned out that they spray room fresheners in the carry bags! The mad girl that I am, I didn’t buy it, so its still on my wishlist.

Instead I ended by being gifted (by my best boy) the Forest Essentials Iced Pomegranate & Kerala Lime Body Mist.

And when you make a purchase, don’t forget to ask for a free sample product.

Trust me when I say this, Forest Essentials is one of the best things to have happened to mankind after peanut butter and doggie hugs. I’ve been using it for about 2 months now, and thought now would be a great time to share my thoughts about it.

This is what summer dreams are made up of.
  • Packaging

The outer packaging is trademark Forest Essentials, brown carton with cutesy pomegranate and lime drawing. The mist comes in a plastic bottle – light, tiny, and travel friendly. You can easily fit it in your bag and spray it as desired.

Forest Essentials India
Indulgence at its best.
  • Fragrance

The lime predominates and there is this subtle hint of pomegranate. Smells divine! The fragrance reminds me of kaffir lime martini. It’s fresh and fruity, ideal for summers. If you like fruity fragrances that aren’t very sweet, then this is a good pick.

If only the fragrance would have stayed a tad bit longer!!

I only have good things to say about the mist. But how I wish it could stay longer than what it does. Since it is a mist, it fades away in this heat. I am hoping it’ll have more longevity during winters.

Price – 1675/- for 100ml

Forest Essentials is a luxury brand, so you should be prepared to shell out those extra bucks.

If you’re looking for a new mist (certainly not budget friendly) or are a fan of Forest Essentials, then you should definitely give this a sniff. This’ll also make a great gift!!

If you, like I are fan of Forest Essentials, then you’ll surely like their body mist.

PS – This isn’t a sponsored post. It is my sheer love for Forest Essentials, that’s speaking.
