Hi y’all!

Starting new week with a new blog is a good idea. I haven’t done monthly favorites since two months now. Finally curating a list of all the things I loved in July and August.

1. Soulflower Rose Germanium Bath Salt

Taking my new found love for roses a notch higher with this heavenly smelling bath salt.

If you haven’t tried a bath salt ever, it is time you should invest in one. Ideally they have to be used in bath tubs. But since most of us don’t have the luxury of a bath tub at home, you can use them in a bucket.

Using this at the end of the day is like a pamper session.

Add 2 tbsp bath salt in a bucket of hot water. You can soak up your feet after a long day at work or even use this water for a therapeutic bath. It is so relaxing and rejuvenating, like a mini spa session at home. I think this would also make a good gifting option.

It looks coarse, but get dissolved in the water so well.

Price – 350/- for 500g

2. Mac Retro Matte Lipstick

For the past two months I have obsessed over my new Mac lipstick – Relentlessly Red. It is such a pretty redish coral color. Gives the perfect pop of color to any look! Its a cool toned coral which will look pretty on all akin tones.

Mac Relentlessly Red
Love at first sight.

The formulation is amazing, it stays on your lips for 4-5 hours and then gradually fades, doesn’t crumble or feather. I have nothing bad to say about Mac lipsticks, they are just so good. Some of you might find the Retro Matte formulation drying, but it is my most preferred formulations.

3. Himalaya Herbals Aloe Vera Face Wash

Before I discovered this gem, Himalaya Herbals Neem Face Wash was my holy grail. Although it made my skin squeaky clean, I could feel the skin being a tad bit dry. But with the aloe vera face wash, I haven’t faced that problem.

Himalaya face wash
Soon going to be my holy grail.

It is very mild on the skin and doesn’t lather much. The good thing is that it leaves your skin feeling clean and fresh without stripping off the moisture. It’s affordable and does its job properly, what else can you ask for?

Price – 65/- for 50ml

4. Forest Essentials Room Surround Spray

Forest Essentials makes me go week in the knees. I am a huge fan of their Madurai Jasmine & Mogra Range. It smells divine, the perfect blend of subtle mogra and tinkling jasmine. Love it! Comes in a luxurious glass bottle and traditional Forest Essentials packaging.

Forest Essentials Room Spray
Elegance is the beauty that never fades – Audrey Hepburn

It is the best room spray I have ever used, totally justifies the price. The concentrated liquid is highly fragrant and you just need a couple of sprays for the entire room. Some of you might find the fragrance strong, so the best way is to spray it and let it settle for a couple of minutes.

Forest Essentials Madurai Jasmine & Mogra
My love for Forest Essentials is on the rise.

There are various other room sprays also available from their signature fragrance ranges. Give then a whiff, and you’ll surely fall in love.

Price – 975/- for 120ml

5. Sugar Cosmetics Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick

The color I have is Jet Set Violet. It is a stunning deep purple color. Perfect for a goth look, or for the upcoming fall/winter looks. It isn’t patchy and applies smoothly.

The cute packaging does get you hooked.

I have a love hate relationship with this liquid lipstick. As much as I love the gorgeous purple color, I hate the fact that it is so drying on the lips. Make sure to prep up your lips well, exfoliate them, apply a generous dose of lip balm and then wear this lipstick! Otherwise it may feather and settle into lines.

That pretty purple!

It dries to a complete matte finish on your lips. Doesn’t budge and survives a meal.

Price – 499/- for 4.5ml

6. Biotique Bio-Cucumber Toner

Like most of us I never included toner in my skincare regime. But then one fine day I decided that I should. Was searching for some affordable options and what better than Biotique?

This particular one is a pore tightening toner with Himalayan Waters. It is suitable for normal to oily skin. It is a 100% Ayurvedic recipe. If you have large pores, then you should give this a try. It is helpful in visibly tightening the pores.

Biotique toner
Barring the strong fragrance, this one gets all the points.

It does sting slightly when you use it, but nothing harsh. The only bummer is the strong fragrance which reminds me a lot of acetone. The fragrance does fade away after about 5 minutes.

Price – 175/- for 120ml

7. Nykaa Matte Nail Polishes

This shouldn’t come as a surprise. Over the past couple of months I have gone gaga over the Nykaa matte nail polish range. My heart goes out to the gorgeous nudes and pastels, but off late I have given in to the temptation of bold red matte as well.

Can never go wrong with RED!

They look stunning, stay on the nails for about 4-5 days (after 3rd day they’ll become less matte), so many colors to choose from, super affordable – tell me what’s not to love about these beauties?

Price – 199/- for 9ml

Half of the year is over and HOW!

Goodbye June 🙂
Source – Red Magazine

It’s time for June favorites. I haven’t tried a lot of new things this past month, just rediscovering some old favorites. So without any more rambling, let’s get going.

  1. Himalaya Litchi Shine Lip Care

I have to say that Himalaya lip balms have pleasantly surprised me. Every time they have exceeded my expectations. I’ve tried strawberry and cocoa variants, and this time it is litchi. It is free from preservatives, petroleum jelly, mineral oil, and silicones.

Himalaya Herbals lip balm
Litchi Love!

It’s not thick or sticky, yet moisturizes your lips very well. Stays on for a couple of hours and leaves a pale pink shiny tint on the lips. The taste is the best thing, after affordability. It is exactly like litchi juice smeared on your lips, very delicious!

The only negative – the bullet breaks at the bottom very easily.

Price – 140/- for 4.5g

2. Nykaa Nude Nail Polishes

I am legit obsessed with the nudes nail polish collection by Nykaa. Have been wearing them non-stop throughout the month. It is difficult to choose a favorite among the normal and matte range, so including 2 of both.

Nykaa nail polishes
Too many nail polishes? What’s that 😉

The formulation is good, staying power is great (4-5 days before it starts to chip), and so many colors to choose from. You’ll definitely find a nude for yourself (pun unintended).

3. The Face Shop Hand Cream – Macadamia

I cannot have enough hand creams. Got this in one of the Nykaa sales and trust me, it is good. Its thick and creamy but not sticky, which is always a plus.

The Face Shop hand cream
This smells divine…..

The fragrance is a mix of vanilla and hazelnut – soothing and calming, almost like the heavenly mountain fragrance. It is sleek and tiny, so you can easily put it in your bag and use it throughout the day.

Price –  300/- for 30ml

4. The Body shop Tea Tree 3-in-1 Wash Scrub Mask

There can never be a ‘favorites’ post without The Body Shop goodness. Such is the level of fangirl.

I and mum have been using it as a mask all through June, and it has shown effective results. It has a strong tea tree oil fragrance. The microbeads are small but exfoliate well when you use it as a scrub. The texture is creamy and sets to powdery.

The Body Shop Tea Tree mask and scrub
For squeaky clean skin, this is what you need.

For blemish prone skin it is great. Regular use has reduced mum’s blemishes considerably. For a quick cleanup session at home, it is a nice mask.

Price – 1295/- for 125ml

5. L’Oreal Paris Infallible Lipstick – Forever Fuchsia

Thank you bestie for knowing my lipstick choices so well!

Loreal Infallible Lipstick
Color coded packaging gets a big thumbs up!

This one is a bright fuchsia color, perfect for all seasons. It has a satin finish as you apply, but give it 10 minutes and it’ll become a super pretty semi-matte finish. Plus points for the color coded cap. It makes it so easy to recognize the lipstick.

The color payoff is amazing, lasts through the day and even survives a meal. Doesn’t bleed, feather, or settle into fine lines. What else can you possible ask for?

Price – 1150/- for 2.5g

6. The Nature’s Co. Watermelon Exfoliating Body Wash

“When one has tasted watermelon, he knows what the angels eat.” – Mark Twain

For all you watermelon lovers, this baby awaits to be added to cart. It smells delicious, just like watermelon pulp.

The Nature's Co Watermelon body scrub
The best thing about summers – Watermelon!!

The exfoliating granules are fine, thus, you get gentle exfoliation. It lathers up well, so you need just a tiny amount. Use it with scrub gloves for super soft skin. You can thank me later!!

Price – 845/- for 250ml

It isn’t the most affordable or the most effective scrub, but the watermelon attracted me.

Do let me know what all have you loved in the month of June. Just another reason to shop in the upcoming sales!

See you soon. Byeee….

March winds and April showers bring forth May flowers.

It’s hard to believe that almost half of 2017 is over. May was a happy productive month. And now it is that time of the month when I sit down to compile my list of favorites.

So here goes, all the things that I’ve loved through the month – May Favorites.

  1. Forest Essentials Roop Nikhar Gulab Ubtan

If you haven’t tried Forest Essntials ubtans, you don’t know what you’re missing in life. Let your skin indulge in the goodness of all things natural with this ubtan. You can mix it with rosewater or aloe-vera gel and use it twice a week.

Forest Essentials
I’ve been biased for all things ‘rose’ this month.
This ubtan though is pure love!

The granules are fine but when mixed it can be used as a scrub as well. The good thing is, it’s gentle on the skin and gives a radiant glow.

I’m not a fan of rose fragrance, but this one seems to be nice. It’s sweet yet not overpowering. The price is on the higher end, but it is worth all the money.

Price – 825/- for 50g

Forest Essentials Gulab Ubtan Review
You can use it as a scrub or as a mask.

2. Biotique Honey Gel Refreshing Foaming Face Cleanser

After a lot of searching, I’ve found the perfect cleanser. Enriched with the goodness of honey, this one is suitable for all skin types and is a 100% soap free formulation.

Biotique facial cleanser
Gentle on the skin, and on the pocket as well 😉

There are times when your face feels stretchy and dry after using a face wash. It won’t happen when you use this cleanser. It lathers well, has a mild pleasant fragrance, gives you squeaky clean skin, and is super affordable (the best part).

Price – 149/- for 20ml

3. Lakme 9 to 5 Weightless Matte Mousse Lip & Cheek Color

What’s a favorite post without some lipstick love! Have been crushing over these lipsticks all this month. There are 10 shades in the range, and I have two of them – Rose Touch and Coffee Lite.

Lakme 9 to 5 weightless mousse
Love the formulation. It’s so light yet highly pigmented.

Both the shades are MLBB (My lips but better), perfect everyday colors.
The application is smooth, they don’t dry out your lips, the staying power is pretty good (will survive a drink, but not a meal). For the price, they are great quality.

Price – 575/-

Ignore the drawing, focus on the creativity 🙂

4. Bath and Body Works Ultra Shea Body Cream

I have the variant – Sensual Amber. And perfect to its name, it is super sensual.
Has a rich creamy texture which gets absorbed into the skin in a jiffy. It leaves your skin soft without feeling greasy. Even though it is a creamy consistency, it is perfect for summers.

Pamper yourself with this the goodness of this cream

Richly moisturizing, and an amazing fragrance that lingers on, what else can you ask for? It was a gift by a dear friend, so don’t know the price!

5. The Body Shop British Rose Hand Cream

If you have Sahara Desert hands just like me, then this pleasant smelling hand cream will become your best friend. The consistency is a tad bit runny, but it gets absorbed instantly without leaving your hands greasy or sticky.

The Body Shop
The fragrance 🙂
The feel 🙂

It is moisturizing and keeps your hands soft. The fragrance is the real star. And the best part is that it lingers on for quite long.

Price – 375/-
